WordPress Training: Adding & managing categories after the fact

If you decide later on that you like to add categories or tags to a post or posts after they’ve been written or publish, you can do that either one at a time or in bulk.

Head to the post menu and select the edit option. To add or change categories for a single post click the quick edit button under its title in the new window you can add or remove categories or add additional tags. Click save and your changes will be updated.

If you want to add a category or tags to a bunch of posts all at once, just put a check mark next to the post you like to change and choose edit from up here at the actions menu. Click apply and you can now set about making as many changes as you like at categories tags even change the author, comments status, sticky status and more. Of course as you go back into a post to edit it directly by clicking on its title or an edit under its name you can also at least change it from the regular post editor. Just remember to update your post by saving the changes when you’re done. So here’s a couple of quick ways of adding categories and tags after the fact.
