How to Engage and Grow Your WordPress Blog Readers

Hi, everyone.   Welcome to BuildMySiteForFree.com.  In today’s tutorial, I’m going to show you how to grow your WordPress blog readership. And by doing this, you need to first grab the attention of your readers; and second, once you have their attention, keep them engaged.

So my first step would be to give advice.  Be an expert about something.  Share your knowledge and ideas that people can use in their own lives.  For example, there are such things called Mommy blogs where moms give advice to other moms about taking care of their children.
There are blogs that have to do with gardening and home décor tips, as well as blogs about stock and business advice.  Through this, what you could do is ask them to share their own comments and feelings by leaving responses on your blog posts.

The next thing I would do is be personal.  Share personal stories and experiences to connect with your readers. You can even come to the ordPress.org plugin directory and download plugins such as WP Photo Album Plus where you can also put photo albums and slideshows to go with what you’re saying.

What I would do next is follow your comments, read your feedback, go to your social networking sites and see what your feedback is as well.  Even download Google Analytics.  This will track all the statistics of your blog, so you can see what are the most popular posts, what pages aren’t getting enough attention, what links people are clicking on the most when they come to your blog. And this way, you can enhance areas of your blog that you see aren’t getting enough attention.

Finally, I would keep posts short and sweet.  I wouldn’t go on and rant and rave.  If you do, however, have a long story you’d like to share, you could possibly put it in several posts where you can schedule them for each day of the week so people keep coming back to read the continuation of your story.  This also grabs the attention of your readers. After you write your post, all you have to do is come over here and
schedule the date and time you want the post to be published and put on your blog.

And lastly, I’d remember just to be different.  Put your ideas out there.  Try to come up with a different aspect of things.  And most importantly, definitely follow these steps because I think they really help when you want to grow your WordPress blog readership.
