How to Customize Your Background in Worrdpress

Hi and welcome to the buildmysiteforfree.com.  Today I’m going to show you how to customize your background.  And the first thing I do want to point out is that not all wordpress themes have this feature that allows you to customize your own background. So you do want to check out which theme you are using first.  And in this case if you are using theme 2010
like we are, you do have this feature customize your own background. So we’re going to go ahead and do that, as you could see we’re on our dashboard, so we’re going to go over on the navigation menu and work as appearance, we’re going to click that open up the sub menu.
We’ll scroll down towards this background and you click that link and it will you bring you the custom background page.  Now for those of you who don’t know what a background is, it’s basically just what the background of your blogger post is going to look like, it’s a simple way that allows you to visually customize how you want your background of your blog or your post to look.  So there’s two things you could do, you can either upload an image from your computer or you can choose a color.  If you want to choose a color, you can either type in a hexadecimal code right here or click select a color and the color wheel will appear, where you can click different areas of the wheel to change the color that you want to use as your background.

If you have a file that you earlier save to your computer and you want to upload it, you can click choose file and I have a beach image that I want to use, click choose and then upload and then the picture will upload to your previous section. As you could see, there’s the beach and if you scroll down you have several displays options that you can use where you can position it to the left center or right of the screen, you can have it repeat by tiling it, so as you can see there it is tiled, you can have an attachment, scroll or fixed and that is how your background will look.

Now if you do want to change it or remove it, you will just click remove background image and the previous screen will go blank, and you will have the option to change the color or image again.  You can do this for different blog post and you have the option to do this as many times as you want.  Before you’re done, the last thing you want to make sure you’ll always do, is click this blue button right her which says “save changes” and it will save and you will have your new background.  And that is how you customize your background and please stay tuned for more videos.
