How to Align Images in WordPress

Hi and welcome to BuildMySiteForFree.com. Today I’m going to be showing you how to align images into posts. Now as most of you may know, when you upload an image you can set the alignment for your image to one of four options. You can set it to none, left, right or center. However, some of you may be using a particular WordPress theme that does not have these alignment style options. So the image you’re uploading just simply doesn’t align to how you’re choosing it to be. So if this is the case, what you need to do is add a few alignment styles to your theme style sheet.

And now to get to this theme style sheet you need to come to your navigation menu and open up the appearance submenu. You then want to scroll all the way to the bottom and click ‘Editor.’ And this will bring you to the Edit Themes page. So in the center you will see a text box, and in many cases this may be empty and on the right side you’ll see a list of all template files. Now we’re already on my styles sheet with the codes entered but I’m still going to go ahead and show you how to do this if you haven’t yet. So what you want to do is scroll all the way to the bottom of the template file list and click where it says ‘Stylesheet. ’

Then after you clicked this what will happen is this text box will open, it will show you your theme and then it will tell you the stylesheet. And here’s where you’re going to enter all of your style codes.

If you are unsure of what the codes are you can always come to WordPress.org/css which is the link right here on the top. And all of the links will be provided here for you so you can simply copy and paste and then come right back to your themes page and insert it right here.

And this is how you align your images in your post. Thank you for watching.
