How to Organize a Link in WordPress

Hi guys, welcome to BuildMySiteForFree.com. In this tutorial I’m going to be showing you how to create a link category. This is also a way to organize your links and just like you organize posts by creating categories and subcategories; Here we’re going to learn how to organize links by creating link categories. So,  first thing that you do is you come to your navigation menu and where you see links you open up that submenu and you want to scroll down to where it says “Link Categories.”

This is going to bring you to the Link Categories page and as you can see it’s pretty much the same setup as adding a regular category. We have our option to add new right here, and then on the left side we have the option to view all of the current links categories that we have. And then, of course, the option to edit them, delete them, you can also, if you have added a description you will see that in this box right here – in this space right here rather- and you also notice the slug and you will see how many links you have to each category.

So what I’m going to do is I’m going to go ahead and add a link category and since I have been creating a lot of posts about restaurants and do-it-yourself, I’m going to try to stick with that theme. So I may just want to type something in like “Great Restaurants.”  So I’m doing this because I’m going to create this category and in this category I’m going to put all links to restaurants that I think are really great so people can go visit their website, maybe even give them business and go have some dinner. So, after I have created the name; once again you can insert the slug, but remember if not, or if Press does it for you,  and then if I wanted to I could add a description. Once I am done, I’m going to go aheadand click “Add New Link Category” and, now you’ll notice, on our new link categories page, after it’s been refreshed you will see that “Great Restaurants” has been added to the list.

And like always, you can always go back and edit this at any time. If I want to change the title, if I want to add a description, or if I have a  escription I can change it and this is how you go about creating a link category. Thank you.
