How to Insert a Photo Gallery in WordPress

Hi, welcome to BuildMySiteforFree.com. In this tutorial I’m going to be showing you how to insert a photo gallery into your post, and you go about it the same way as you would inserting an image, and You’ll go to post on your dashboard and click add new which will bring you to your add new post page and if you’ve seen how our inserting an image into your post video you will know how to start this so of course you’ll want to go where these four icons are and you click the first one which is add an image and

Here, of course, you have the option to upload it from your hard drive or from your URL. I already have these pictures saved so I want to go ahead and do it from my computer, my hard drive and I’ll select files and since I’m uploading more than one you have to keep going back and reselecting the files but as you can see they upload very quickly and just to show you you have the option for each one to choose the title you want and several options if how you want it displayed, if you want to add a description or a caption so you have that to do for every photo you upload. And I want to go back and

I want to keep uploading the other files. And here is the last one I want to upload. So here I have all three images that I want to upload. And you can upload as many as you want. So the first thing I’m going to do is save all of my changes and

Once I do that you’ll see up here in the top a gallery will appear. This means that you obviously have uploaded your images into a gallery and the first thing you may want to do, which is optional, is you can choose the sequence in which you want these photos to appear on your post. So I may want this first beach photo to appear first. I may want the second one to appear third. And I may want the last one to appear second. And this is optional, you don’t need to do this. And of course you want to save your changes. And the you have the option to choose your gallery settings, so the first thing you can do is link your thumbnails to either an image file or an attachment page.

Then you choose the order you want your images to go by, so if you click this drop down menu can have them go by their title, their date and time, or randomly. I’m just gonna keep it with menu order which is what I have right here. You can also choose if you want the photos to be ascending or descending and the last thing you choose is the amount of columns you want for your gallery. So of course the more photos you have the more columns you may want. I’m just gonna go ahead and only choose one column since I have three photos.

Then the last thing you wantto do is insert into gallery. And once you do that you’ll see this appear. Andthis means that your photos have been uploaded into the galleries. So the nly thing you have to do from here is if you want to add a title and if youwant to add a text to your post. But I want to go ahead and show you how theselook so of course I’m going to click publish, and

Once I publish that his is how it’s going to appear on my post. So you can see the three photosthat I’ve uploaded. You can see that I’ve chosen one column for them. And hey’re ascending and

f you click on say,for instance, the first photo, a larger image of it will show. And you can dothat for each one. And you can even go back to the post and you can edit it and nsert more photos. You have many options you can do here. And that is how youinsert photos into a gallery. Thank you for watching.
